Certainty Analytical Labs founder and CEO Brandy Young, PhD, is a scientist at heart who thrives at the intersection of scientific discovery and business advancement. In her role as CEO, Dr. Young is working to onboard the testing platforms, overseeing the laboratory accreditation efforts, and engaging new customers. 

An expert at translating scientific discoveries into commercial applications, Dr. Young’s career has been centered around accurate, reliable, and defensible data related to laboratory testing. Her analytical testing expertise is in mass spectrometry and also extends to other testing platforms. She also brings international experience to her role. She was instrumental in developing the mass spectrometry infrastructure in the Western Cape of South Africa

She has 20 years of experience in laboratory management, operations, and business development and has held positions as senior scientist, research fellow, Assistant Professor, and CEO at numerous organizations. 

Dr. Young earned her PhD from Purdue University under the direction of the Henry Bohn Hass Distinguished Professor Robert Graham Cooks and she later went on to fulfill various leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and in medicine. 

Dr. Young has been instrumental in securing more than $1.6 million in funding and awards across multiple endeavors, including from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
